The Not So Rotten Romans

Today, Year 3 pupils stepped into the sandals of the ancient Romans!  In maths, they mastered Roman numerals. In guided reading, they discovered what the Romans wore. “I enjoyed finding out about what the Romans used to wear,” explained Aazil.

In literacy, they wrote their names in Latin. The Latin alphabet only had 21 letters, so some names had letters missing! “Learning how to write my name was fun because it looked strange,” said Sophie.

This afternoon, year 3 created their own Roman pottery. Did you know the Romans used pottery in everyday life, for carrying water? We designed our pots and then decorated them! “It was so enjoyable being able to make something,” announced Toby “I hope we get to do this again!”
