More than a school

World Book Day

During World Book Day, the children completed a host of exciting activities around school. They dressed up as book characters from their favourite books (including Matilda, The Gruffalo and the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood), were filmed sharing their favourite stories and received a book token to spend on a new book!

Throughout the day, children from reception to year 6 wrote their very own ‘Tale of Smith’s Wood’.  Each class had to write a sentence or two to develop the amazing storyline and 6ST had the important job of tying it all together and leaving us on the edge of our seats… Mr Talbot read the story in Friday’s celebration assembly and the children were delighted with their masterpiece. Well done everyone! What a fantastic World Book Day it was!
