Each week, during our Friday Achievement assembly, we celebrate our ‘Pupils of the Week’ from each year group. Pupils are recognised for this weekly award for a variety of reasons and are nominated by their class teacher. They may have excelled in a particular subject through the week; may have shown one, or more, of the school values in abundance, or they may have impressed their teacher, or other staff members with a huge amount of effort. Whatever they are nominated for, they are recognised in the whole school achievement assembly, receive a certificate to take home and get to wear one of our prestigious black and gold t-shirts.
During the assembly, we also celebrate children who have 100% attendance for the week and have been in school every day on time. A lucky dip, of all children who are eligible takes place, and one pupil walks away with £5 to spend on whatever they want, Standards and presentation of a child’s book, chosen at random, are also reviewed and celebrated with the school and the child, whose book has been chosen, has the chance to win a dip out of the basket of goodies, as long as they have used their best handwriting every day, completed their feed forward marking and taken care in the presentation of their date and learning objective. We are extremely proud of all of the efforts of our pupils and the Friday Achievement assembly recognises this pride.

Today, Year 3 pupils stepped into the sandals of the ancient Romans! In maths, they mastered Roman numerals. In guided reading, they discovered what the Romans wore. “I enjoyed finding out about what the Romans used to wear,” explained Aazil.
In literacy, they wrote their names in Latin. The Latin alphabet only had 21 letters, so some names had letters missing! “Learning how to write my name was fun because it looked strange,” said Sophie.
This afternoon, year 3 created their own Roman pottery. Did you know the Romans used pottery in everyday life, for carrying water? We designed our pots and then decorated them! “It was so enjoyable being able to make something,” announced Toby “I hope we get to do this again!”

Year 1 visited the Butterfly Farm in Stratford-Upon-Avon - We saw a variety of beautifully coloured butterflies, some of which even landed on us. We learned about the amazing life cycle of a butterfly and saw some of the world's largest and most camouflaged caterpillars, giant silk moths and their cocoons. When we visited the casing, we could see a butterfly beginning to hatch from its pupa! We had a fantastic time strolling through the wonderful world of the tropical, rainforest environment, with beautiful flowers, different animals, splashing waterfalls fish filled pools and even a crocodile! The children had a fantastic time exploring, playing and learning about lots of different creatures and minibeasts!

This year's Science Fair theme was time- and boy does time fly when you are having fun at the Science fair! Each year group had representatives who talked scientifically to their audiences about their Science project. Various investigations took place including: Why does a boat float? What happens to your heart after exercise? What is adaptation?
Take a look at our gallery to see the superb science learning from our Science Fair.
Today we have celebrated our pupils of the term. These children have been nominated by their class teachers to receive an end of term prize. This is a prestigious award, as the pupil of the term nominations are for those children who have impressed their teachers repeatedly over the whole of the Autumn term. We would like to congratulate all of our pupil of the term winners and thank them for showing the school values in abundance this term. We also celebrate children who have 100% attendance for the week and have been in school every day on time. Children from EYFS and KS1 took part in an eggciting Easter bonnet parade yesterday as they paraded around the school to a wonderous applause from KS2; children in KS2 also wowed us with their eggtravagently decorated eggs and they were proudly displayed in school for all to see. It was fantastic to see so many creative and eggcellent Easter creations and it looked as though the children enjoyed creating their masterpieces at home, I know it was very hard to pick a winner in each class.
