More than a school

Lockdown Learning Week 3

It has been yet another fantastic week here at Smith’s Wood, jam-packed with exciting activities and lessons for both our remote learners and our children in school.

Year 3 remote learners were visited by a very special guest this week. Professor Parnell lead the science lesson, using investigative techniques to remove a paperclip out of a range of liquids using only a magnet!

Programming lessons got off to a wonderful start this week as Year 1 pupils created algorithms to guide a Beebot robot around a series of obstacles.

PSHE lessons had an exciting twist this week as Year 3 improved on their artistic skills creating sensory garden pictures to help raise awareness of children who are visually impaired. The children had a great time designing the gardens, their work can be seen in our gallery.

Mr Wright’s ‘Workout the Wright Way’ started in year 4 for remote learners this week, a great turnout and a great workout, well done Mr Wright!

We would like to thank and parents, pupils and staff for their continued support both at home and in school. With your help we can continue to provide the best, high quality provision for all our learners.
