  • Year 1 Take a Trip to Tamworth Castle

    Published 16/07/21

A spot of royalty this week for Year 1, as they embarked on a magnificent journey to Tamworth Castle. The children were amazed and taken aback by the castle, where they were able to explore features we had learned about in school, such as; the Barbican, Bailey, portcullis, turrets and arrow loops. They were fully immersed in the experience, dressed for the occasion in royal costume. The children walked around the castle, had time to sketch, explore the flower steps, dance in the bandstand, view a real cannon, enjoy an ice lolly and play medieval games. All children and staff had a wonderful day, enjoying all the activities immensely - what a fantastic day had by all!
