Smith's Wood's greatest mathematicians met for a battle of the minds on 19th Nov, the competition was fierce and the complex questions were taxing for even the most distinguished minds. Although all teams competed on an extraordinary level, Super House reigned supreme and managed to snatch victory away from the other teams. Well done to everyone who took part and well done to the Super House Maths champions.
Over the last week, we have been taking part in lots of different activities to raise money for Children in Need. We have held various fundraising activities across the school with cookies and Pudsey merchandise for sale and our brilliant classroom stalls held in each year group. Our pupils had lots of fun taking part in activities including archery, penalty shootout and Pudsey pairs.
Our overall attendance this week was 95.4%
This half term our school value is 'Respect'. As part of this, we have been learning about Remembrance Day. We have had opportunities to reflect and remember those that risked their lives to change our future. We have had fundraising, assemblies, a video from Reverend Carter and a dedicated PSHE lesson to create our very own poppy wreath. Each class has created their own poppy wreath which was laid in school on November 11th to pay our respects to the armed forces. We are very proud of the effort and respect of our pupils during this time.
