Each week, during our Friday Achievement assembly, we celebrate our ‘Pupils of the Week’ from each year group. Pupils are recognised for this weekly award for a variety of reasons and are nominated by their class teacher. They may have excelled in a particular subject through the week; may have shown one, or more, of the school values in abundance, or they may have impressed their teacher, or other staff members with a huge amount of effort. Whatever they are nominated for, they are recognised in the whole school achievement assembly, receive a certificate to take home and get to wear one of our prestigious black and gold t-shirts.
During the assembly, we also celebrate children who have 100% attendance for the week and have been in school every day on time. A lucky dip, of all children who are eligible takes place, and one pupil walks away with £5 to spend on whatever they want, Standards and presentation of a child’s book, chosen at random, are also reviewed and celebrated with the school and the child, whose book has been chosen, has the chance to win a dip out of the basket of goodies, as long as they have used their best handwriting every day, completed their feed forward marking and taken care in the presentation of their date and learning objective. We are extremely proud of all of the efforts of our pupils and the Friday Achievement assembly recognises this pride.

Oh what a night! The highly popular, deal or no deal, completed its inaugural run in sensational fashion. Super House took centre stage, epitomising the nerves of the man of steel himself. Despite a potentially catastrophic start, Super house rallied together, overcoming the greatest hurdle of all, the super-villainous banker! Demonstrating both teamwork and wisdom, guiding our very own Lucas from Year 5 to a never-before seen grand total of 1000 house points, securing Lucas and all of Super house in the anointed halls of Smith's Wood fame. A suburb end to the current round of competition and a miraculous win for Super house. Well done to everyone who competed. For more pictures, please see our gallery

On Wednesday, 9 of our Year 5 and 6 children went to North Solihull Sports Centre to compete in the Netball Skills Competition. During the competition, they were tested on their passing, shooting, transitioning and communication. During the heats, they were timed, and recorded times of 6:05mins and 5:55mins - putting them through to the final round. In the final round, the team rallied together and recorded a final time of 5:30, winning them the silver medal and achieving their own personal best! The whole team out in 100% effort, showed excellent sportsmanship and were proud of their silver medals!

Last night, responsibility for the Spider house fell upon the shoulders of year 5's Ebony. Playing for a grand total of 1000 house points, Ebony rallied the members of Spider house behind her to compete in the 3rd round of the Deal or no Deal House Competition. After a rocky start, great teamwork and fantastic advice spurred on Spider house and renewed their resolve to beat the banker. Spider House's determination shone through as they battled the odds, winning them the largest victory recorded in the completion so far with a staggering 160 house points!
Well done to Ebony and the rest of Spider House. For more pictures from the night, please see our gallery
