For each year group, we have carefully selected a list of 50 Recommended Reads to inspire a love of reading and introduce children to a wide range of high-quality books. Many of these titles are available to borrow from our school library, making it easy for pupils to explore the recommendations throughout the year. Each book has been chosen thoughtfully, taking into account the storyline, themes and experiences that are appropriate and valuable for children at that age, as well as the vocabulary, language and level of challenge within the text. Our recommended reads are designed to broaden children’s reading experiences, develop their understanding of the world around them and expose them to rich vocabulary and language that will support both their reading and writing.
